Wonderful Terrific Monds III Baseball Card Super Collection

UPDATED 12/09/2020: Still on the lookout! Scroll down for the cards I still need. I’m down to only TWO!! These are surprisingly difficult to find, but I’m convinced there’s plenty of them floating around in junk commons boxes. Just no one is pulling them out and posting them online! HELP a brother out! Check your junk commons!

*****

This is my official announcement to the baseball card collecting world that I, Brian Dodson, otherwise known as @bsportscards, am pursuing the worlds only (as far as I know) super collection of Wonderful Terrific Monds III.

Wonderful Monds is the son of former NFL linebacker for the 49ers, Wonder Monds and brother of former NFL player Mario Monds. Wonderful was picked in the 50th round of the 1993 amateur draft by the Atlanta Braves. He spent 5 years in the Braves farm system before moving to my Colorado Rockies system in 1998, then onto Cincinnati Reds affiliate in 1999 before he hung up the cleats in 2000.

There is no good reason for this collection other than the obvious: his name. His name is, well, Wonderful. I’ve always loved the idea of a goofy, cheap PC, just for the heck of it. I found my guy.

I’ll post progress and a full checklist as I go. So far, I believe there to be 25 total cards in existence. There may be more – especially non-licensed minor league issues and so forth. Let me know if you find any! Spread the word. I want to be the Tanner Jones of Wonderful Monds. Let’s make it so.

IN SEARCH OF ONLY TWO CARDS…

These are the white whales of my collection. To date, I have seen a Golden Prospects Gold Medallion only once, and I have NEVER seen the SP promo. But I know they are out there – probably buried in commons and junk era boxes. Help!!
