On August 21st, 2023, the Fulton County District Attorney’s office indicted former President Donald J. Trump and 18 others on 41 counts related to their efforts to upend the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
Trump was charged with racketeering and 12 other criminal counts, and was released Thursday, August 24th, on $200,000 bond after turning himself in at the Fulton County Jail. This is the fourth criminal indictment to hit Trump this year – including two federal cases for handling classified records and trying to overturn his 2020 election loss, and charges in New York state related to an alleged hush money scheme. But unlike in his previous three arraignments, authorities in Georgia took a booking photo.
