Michael J. Fox is a successful actor, author, and Parkinson’s Disease advocate. In 1991, at the young age of 29, Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, a degenerative neurological disorder that affects movement and can cause tremors, stiffness, and balance problems.

Since then, Fox has been a leading voice in raising awareness of Parkinson’s Disease and advocating for research into its causes and potential treatments. In 2000, he founded The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, which has become the largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson’s research in the world.

Thanks to Fox’s efforts and the work of the foundation, significant strides have been made in understanding
Parkinson’s Disease and developing new therapies to help those affected by it. Despite his ongoing battle
with the disease, Fox remains an inspiration to many and a tireless advocate for finding a cure.
